My granny had a similar experience, when she took my cousin Sharon for her hearing test.Sharon is now 24.

Sharon had her hearing test at 18 months. She had to sit in a corner and the nurse at the other side of the room was shaking a bunch of keys. She expected Sharon to look over in her direction while she was shaking the keys, but that didn't happen.

The nurse said to Granny that Sharon was probably deaf. But Granny said that "Sharon knows you are shaking the keys, she just isn't bothered looking at you. She can hear perfectly well when she wants to" Granny was right!

Shows what the "experts" know about deafness, or autism or anything, really.Elaine Caulhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12147566150957574415noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8508619860116485212.post-10627903586341790472009-07-14T16:47:44.438-04:002009-07-14T16:47:44.438-04:00I have always hated the home visit..and they alway...I have always hated the home visit..and they always happen on the days the laundry is overflowing...I had to cancel the o.t. as I scheduled it when I pick up the kids from summer rec..and yes, I am so happy I used those exact words!
